David Shepherd was born in Hendon and started his career painting English landscapes, aviation subjects, steam trains and portraits but his career really took off at Heathrow Airport where he painted aircraft from life. The RAF noticed these pictures and invited him to travel all over the world with them as their guest commissioning various subjects. Consequently a painting he did of a rhino chasing an aeroplane off a runway in Kenya changed his life finding his great passion for wildlife painting. The David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation was started and fulfills his obligation to many critical endangered mammals on the brink of extinction.
David’s work has been published for over 40 years with over 100 sell-outs.
