… 'I gain inspiration from travel; to recreate the experience on large canvas, with the immediacy and shock of new experience driving my work. The surfaces are heavily textured with layers of colour giving detail and richness to simple iconic images. I achieve this by working with a variety of mixed media including high gloss varnish and wax. The images are iconic and it is important to me that the subject matter resonates with the viewer....but at the same time my experiential interpretation will lead them to reassess their preconceptions.'
