Ken Hammond was born in 1948 in Surrey, England. Ken has been painting professionally since 1971. It was his love of boats and the sea, which brought him to the South Coast, where he now lives.

He spent holidays on the River Fowey estuary in Cornwall, and the influence can be seen in his paintings of creeks and harbours.

Being a crewmember on the training schooner Sir Winston Churchill, and also on a Thames sailing barge, enabled him to gain an understanding with regard to the working of sailing vessels. His paintings can now be seen in select galleries in the U.K, and are in many private collections worldwide.
