Maykel was born in Camauey Cuba in 1979, He graduated from the Professional School of Arts in Camagüey where he studied from 1993-98. Maykel is celebrated as one of the best living artists in Cuba. His work can be found in many collections around the world and his many awards, publication, exhibitions and illustrations bear testament to his artistic ability and the recognition he carries in the informed artist communities of the Americas.
