Having trained and worked briefly in display, Sam developed a talent for painting in her late teens and set up a small shop selling painted furniture in Hampstead Emporium in London. This awoke a life long interest in antiques and furniture. Largely self taught she also became adept in interior design and whilst painting botanical studies on a twelve door cupboard unit discovered an amazing ability and love of painting flowers. Sam describes her style as an unusually light hearted approach to botanical painting while still retaining the necessary attention to detail. Sam and her husband divide their time between their home in Lincolnshire and their derelict hovel in France.
